Tamiko McCullough serves as the Healthy Initiative Coordinator at Wake County Smart Start, where she partners with childcare centers and family child care homes to implement and evaluate the Preventing Obesity by Design (POD) program. In this role, she supports centers in naturalizing outdoor learning environments, increasing awareness of fruits and vegetables through cooking classes, procuring fresh produce, assisting with garden development and maintenance, and offering lactation resources to support families.
Tamiko holds a B.S. in Child Development and Family Relations from North Carolina Central University. With more than two decades of experience working with young children and families, she is dedicated to fostering nurturing spaces that support healthy growth and development.
