Join us for the 3rd annual “Kick Off to Pre-K: Application Event and Resource Fair” on July 12, 2025, at our Wake County Smart Start Office from 10am-2pm!
At this free, fun-filled event, families can get in-person support applying for NC Pre-K and discover amazing resources available throughout Wake County – all while enjoying:
- Free food & Icees
- Exciting activities for young children
- Live music
- A special appearance from characters…& more
Want to Apply to NC Pre-K?
Child must turn 4 on or before August, 31, 2025
Bring the Following to Apply at the Event:

Proof of Age – Birth Certificate or Passport

Proof of Wake County Residency – Bring ONE (1) of the following:
- Recent utility bill (water, gas, trash, or electricity)
- Current lease (signed by resident & landlord, include signed letter confirming residency if parent/guardian name is not on lease)

Proof of Income – Bring ONE (1) of the following:
- 2025 tax documents (1040s, W-2s, 1099s)
- Recent pay stubs (4 if paid weekly, 2 if paid monthly/bimonthly/biweekly)
- Letter from employer with pay details (signed and dated)
- Hire letter (signed by employer and employee)
